Opener repair and installation across the Valley

You press the button and nothing happens. Or the motor grinds, the door jerks, and the car is stuck inside. We know that moment, and we fix it here in Scottsdale and across the Valley.

Call (602) 898-8558 and Tal comes to your garage, looks at the opener, the rail and the door together, tells you what he finds, and gets it working. Repair it or install a new one: you hear both options before any work starts.

  1. Call us and tell us what the opener does.
  2. Tal visits and checks the whole system.
  3. You decide once it’s explained.

Work orders

Repair it, or install new? Two work orders, one clear choice

Most openers fall into one of two work orders. Find the symptom that sounds like yours.

WO-A

Work order A: repair it.

  • The remote or wall button works some days and not others.
  • The fobs need recoding.
  • The door reverses or stops partway.
  • The opener hums but the door doesn’t move.

These are often fixable without replacing the unit.

WO-B

Work order B: install new.

  • The motor grinds or strains every cycle.
  • Repairs keep coming back.
  • The opener no longer works with your door or your remotes.

Then a new opener is the calmer, cleaner answer.

Not sure which one you have? That’s what the visit is for. Tal checks first and explains before anything is done. If the trouble is a sensor, see our sensor repair . For the full picture of what we do, see opener repair and opener installation .

What we check

Rail, spring and door: what we check together

An opener is rarely the only thing at fault. It pulls a door that is heavy, balanced by springs and guided by a track, so we look at the whole line.

  1. The rail and trolley. A worn or loose rail makes grinding and jerky travel.
  2. The spring. A tired or broken spring leaves the opener lifting weight it was never meant to carry. See spring replacement .
  3. The door itself. Rollers, hinges and alignment decide how freely it moves. A door that binds will wear out a new opener fast.
  4. Remotes and fobs. Sometimes the fix is only recoding.

That is why we check them together. Replacing a motor when the spring is the cause only brings the problem back, and we would rather tell you that up front.
