Residential and commercial doors.

Off-track, crooked, noisy or stuck: we know what it is.

Most people can’t tell how serious it is, and that’s the worst part. Here is what each symptom usually points to, and whether to stop using the door.

A technician in a black uniform, cap and gloves rests a hand on the metal track beside a partly raised garage door and looks

A roller has jumped the track, or a cable has let go on one side. The door hangs unevenly. Stop using it and don’t force it. It can come down unevenly.

Often a broken torsion spring. The door is heavy because the spring no longer carries its weight. Leave it closed, and don’t strain the opener.

Usually worn rollers, dry hinges or a tired spring. It still runs, but it’s asking for attention. Call us before it stops.

This can be the opener, the sensors or the door’s balance. We check all three before replacing anything.

Not sure which one you have? Describe it when you call and we’ll tell you what we think it is. Spring replacement and off-track door alignment each have their own pages.

A technician in a black Red Crest cap and polo holds a level against a garage door track and tightens it with a wrench.

Springs, cables, rollers, alignment, openers and sensors, repaired right.

Springs wear out, cables fray, rollers flatten and sensors drift out of line. These parts are what we handle every day:

The cause of a problem is rarely the part you think it is. Sometimes a door that sticks is a worn roller, not a failing opener. We look first, then fix the right thing. The full list is on our services page .

Hands-on repairs by technicians who do this every day.

Here is how a visit goes.

  1. We diagnose. We look at the door, the springs, cables, rollers, track and opener, and tell you what we found.
  2. We repair. We replace or adjust what’s worn: a spring, cable, roller or sensor, or we bring the door back onto its track.
  3. We test the run. We open and close the door, and check balance and sensors, before we leave.

What affects the outcome: the type of door, which parts are worn, the age of the opener, and whether the door is residential or commercial. Describe it on the phone and we’ll tell you what to expect.

A technician in a black cap, black polo and black gloves kneels beside a white garage door and installs a white nylon roller

Worn rollers and tired springs, swapped for parts that move freely.

On the left, a roller that has run its course: grease-black, stiff, dragging in the track. On the right, a clean nylon roller with a chrome stem that spins the way it should.

That swap is often what turns a shuddering, loud door into one that glides. You hear it first. The grinding stops, and the door lifts without a fight. Worn springs get the same treatment: replaced with parts that carry the door’s weight again.
